Poster Board Presentation
on Societal Issues in Great Gatsby
What is one major
societal issue presented in the Great Gatsby?
Prepare a poster board
presentation that will describe the issue, how it manifests itself in society,
and five major questions about that issue. Conduct a survey of 50 teens at Curie and publish your
results.
Guidelines: Your posters must include all of the
following:
¥ Title - the title should effectively
highlight the subject of your research in ten words or less
¥ Abstract - this is a succinct summary, usually
150 words or less, that identifies the research problem studied, the results
obtained, and the significance of those results.
¥ Introduction – this section should include
how the problem manifests itself in the novel and why it is relevant
today. This section should also
include survey results.
¥ Survey – Conduct a survey of 50 students. Ask them a yes or no question about
your topic. Post results on poster board.
¥ Body – This section should consist of
five questions about your topic and their answers. You should include the sources of your answers.
¥ Conclusion - this section should provide a
succinct summary of the conclusions you have derived from your work as well as
a statement of the direction of any future work if relevant and appropriate.
¥ References - Since research isn't accomplished in
a vacuum, you will need to credit the relevant work of others in one or more
sections of your poster. As in a technical paper, you will need to include a
citation for each and every source.
